About us
kgtostones.co.uk is run by the kgtostones team. We make simple, accurate tools for converting weight between kilograms, stone and pounds.
Why we built this site
In the UK, people often know their weight in stone and pounds, while doctors, gyms, apps and product labels use kilograms. Switching between the two is something millions of people do every week, and many converters only give an answer in decimal stone, like 12.6 st, which isn't how anyone reads their scales.
We built kgtostones.co.uk to give the answer the way people actually use it: stone and pounds, clearly, on any device, without sign-ups or clutter.
What we offer
- A kg to stone calculator, a stone to kg calculator and a pounds to stone calculator
- A printable kg to stone chart
- Plain-English guides on converting weight and related questions
How we keep it accurate
Every calculation uses the exact legal definitions: one pound is 0.45359237 kg and one stone is 14 pounds, so one stone is exactly 6.35029318 kg. Results are rounded for display, usually to one decimal place. We check our tables against these definitions whenever we change the site.
